We correct spinal joint abnormalities via manual manipulation of the spine to correct a subluxation.
The primary tool of the chiropractor is the
spinal adjustment.
Research has
demonstrated it to be one of the most effective treatments for back pain, neck
pain and headaches.
It works by normalizing
motion of the vertebrae and muscle tone around the vertebral joint thus
restoring proper function to the spine.
Electrical Muscle Stimulation employs low level
electrical current delivered to irritated tissues to reduce pain and facilitate
healing.
This therapy is often used to
treat acute or chronic pain, as well as strains or sprains of the muscles, joints,
and soft tissues of the spine and extremities.
Ultrasound therapy
uses sound waves to decrease swelling, relieve pain and/or muscle spasms and
promote healing.
It does so by creating
deep heat in your muscles and joints, which increases blood flow to the area
being treated. This blood brings
nutrients and carries away waste.
Axial traction therapy is effective in the
treatment of disc herniations, pinched nerve, sciatica and chronic back or neck
pain.
It uses a sophisticated computer
program to facilitate and monitor the treatment, which is designed to create
negative pressure within the spinal joint.
This allows for retraction of disc material, reflex inhibition of muscle
spasm, and non-surgical decompression of the spinal nerve.
At Rigby Chiropractic, we treat the whole body and have been trained to know if the use of orthotics will increase the likelihood of successful treatment of such ailments as back, hip, knee, or ankle pain.
On occasion, the ligaments and muscles become weak enough that they do not effectively support your feet to prevent injury when standing.
Problems that affect the feet can facilitate additional stresses within the surrounding soft tissue. This can create localized pain in the feet and ankles which, in turn, can be a factor in the perpetuation of problems involving the lower limbs, knees, hips and back.
